The good ol' days
Ah yes the good ol' days, sitting on a couch on a Sunday morning reading the editorial section of the times while drinking a cup of coffee. Nothing quite beat the smell of the newspaper or the black smudge on your hands as the ink rubbed off onto your fingertips.

When was the last time you used a payphone?
Seems like a slightly ridiculous question right? Personally, I can't remember the last time I touched a payphone, yet when you walk down the streets of Boston or New York there they are. There are around  500,00 of these public servants in the U.S., each one patiently waiting for a needy passerby to deposit their spare change for a quick call.

Back in the 80's or 90's you may have seen one of these rare creatures in wild, an ordinary telephone mounted on the center console of a car. Back then these car phones were very expensive and seen as a luxurious high end piece of technology. It seems strange to say that now since we all carry around mini computers in our pockets with our smart phones, but 25 years ago this was the tool of the rich and famous.

Our gadgets come and go and eventually they all come to see retirement. Some stay longer than others though, and a select few live on today as legends of the past. Here are 10 gadgets that you may remember and even miss a little bit.
1. Apple II

The new iPhone 6 may have 10x the processing power of this relic but without this computing legend that iPhone may not even exist.

What you are looking at here is Epic Game's Unreal Engine 1 vs Unreal Engine 4. Unreal 1 was released in 1998 and was considered the peak of computer graphics back in the day. Today we know video games as something completely different, they are fully immersive and are reaching the point where it is tough to draw the line between the digital and the real world.

This weeks Throwback Thursday is something close to my heart. This video shows how kids react to the original Nintendo Gameboy, I had one of these as a kid and still have it to this day, so many great memories. Some of their reactions are hilarious to say the least, my favorite quote from this video has to be "I kinda feel bad for people in the past.

ILTA 14 is right around the corner, this week long event has showcased the latest in legal technology for nearly 40 years. To help get everyone excited we thought that we would dedicate a throwback Thursday to showcase what was at ILTA 09.

The first iPhone

The first iPhone was released in July 2008, in 2009 the app explosion was in full swing with over 2 billion apps downloaded in 2009 alone (that number is now at 50 billion). On another note satelite navigation was just coming to mobile phones in 2009, I don't know about you but I'd be eternally lost without sat nav on my phone.

For this weeks throwback thursday I decided to look in my desk/apartment to see what old relics of technology I had lying around. Now I'm only 23 years old so many of our more technologically experienced readers may scoff and say things like "hrmph this is modern technology!" or "back in my day" but for me this is a throwback.

The cloud has changed so many aspects of our world, one of the biggest changes has been to how we consume our entertainment. With services like Netflix, Hulu and HBO Go more and more consumers are cutting the cord with their cable companies and switching to streaming services.
